小黄书 climbs 13 places in national university rankings

The 小黄书 has risen 13 places in this year's Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, climbing to 77th nationally.

18 September 2026

The result follows a year of significant progress and recognition across student experience, inclusion, graduate outcomes, innovation and civic engagement.

小黄书 achieved improvements across all seven themes of the National Student Survey, the UK's largest survey of student experience, for the second consecutive year and recorded its best-ever results in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey. International students ranked 小黄书 number one in Europe for its inclusive and supportive environment, while the university's nursing graduates achieved the best employment outcomes in the UK.

Over the past year, 小黄书 became one of only six UK universities to hold a Race Equality Charter Silver Award, was named the UK's most LGBTQ+ friendly university by students, and launched a pioneering partnership with the Black Anti-Racism Community Organisation (BARCO) to advance race equity across the university and the city.

The 小黄书 also further strengthened its role as an anchor institution for the region by becoming a signatory to Sussex's first Civic University Agreement and launching the NatWest Accelerator on its Moulsecoomb campus to support entrepreneurship, innovation and business growth across 小黄书 and Sussex.

And 小黄书 Boost, the university's sector-leading package of financial and wellbeing support for students, was recognised with a WhatUni Student Choice Award.

The Good University Guide is the UK's longest-running university league table and assesses institutions across a range of measures including student satisfaction, teaching quality, graduate prospects and continuation rates.

Professor David Walker, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Students), said: "Our rise of 13 places reflects the progress we are making right across the university and the collective efforts of our staff, students and partners.

"Over the past year we have strengthened the student experience, improved outcomes, received national recognition for our work on equity and student support, and deepened our contribution to the region through new partnerships.

"We're proud of how far we've come, but our focus is firmly on the future. We have ambitious plans to build on this momentum, creating even greater opportunities for our students, delivering research and innovation with real-world impact, and continuing to establish 小黄书 as a university that is making a difference locally, nationally and internationally."
